Kashika’s accomplishment marks a significant milestone in Odisha’s sporting history and highlights the growing prominence of women athletes in non-mainstream sports. The Chief Minister noted that her success would motivate many young athletes nationwide to strive for excellence.
Born to Brigadier T.K. Mishra and Kiran, Kashika hails from Dharakot in Ganjam district. Her golfing talent was recognized in 2019 when she began practicing full-time at age 12, while her father was posted in Delhi. A keen golfer himself, Brigadier Mishra noticed Kashika’s potential and introduced her to the sport.
