Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated para-athlete Payal Nag for winning a gold medal at the 6th National Para Archery Championship.
He praised her dedication, concentration, and hard work, saying that despite being physically challenged, her determination to achieve her goals has led to her success.
Majhi expressed pride in Nag’s achievement, calling her a pride of Odisha.
Taking to his X handle, Majhi wrote: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to para-athlete Payal Nag. Despite being physically challenged, her dedication, concentration, and hard work have led her to achieve her goals, bringing her success today. I pray for her bright future.”
It is pertinent to mention that Payal was inspired to pursue archery after being influenced by the videos of Sheetal Devi, a celebrated Olympian. Payal’s parents work as migrant workers. She lost one of her legs and hands after coming in contact with a live wire.
