Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda, visited the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) today. During the visit, the Chief Minister proposed the establishment of additional CIPET centres across Odisha.

According to an official press release, the Chief Minister highlighted that agreements worth over ₹1 lakh crore have recently been signed for investments in the petrochemical sector. Additionally, the Utkarsh Odisha initiative has attracted investment opportunities worth ₹17 lakh crore, creating the potential for approximately 13 lakh jobs.

Majhi emphasized that Odisha has immense growth potential in the petrochemical industry, which requires a skilled workforce. To meet this demand, he proposed setting up CIPET training centers in various parts of the state. Specifically, he suggested establishing these centers in industrial clusters such as Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Kalinganagar, Gopalpur, Angul, and Rayagada.

During the visit, Union Minister Nadda and Chief Minister Majhi toured various laboratories at CIPET and interacted with students.
