Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed the third instalment of Subhadra assistance to beneficiaries in Koraput district. More than one crore beneficiaries across the state will receive the instalment, with the amount being transferred to their accounts after the ceremony.
The program was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Minister Nityanand Gond, MP Balabhadra Majhi, and MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati. During the event, the Chief Minister also added more beneficiaries from border dispute areas in Kotia Gram Panchayat under Pottangi Block.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Majhi participated in a Raksha Bandhan program at Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir in Aurobindo Nagar, where students tied rakhis on his wrist.
The Subhadra Yojana portal has reopened for new applications after the disbursement. Young women turning 21 will be eligible to apply for the scheme, while women aged over 60 as of March 30, 2025, will be excluded from the scheme. The government’s initiative aims to support women in the state, and the release of the third instalment of Subhadra is expected to benefit a large number of beneficiaries across Odisha.
