Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the situation following hoax bomb scares in various parts of the state at a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Officials confirmed all threats were hoaxes, and agencies like the Bomb Detection Squad and Quick Reaction Team investigated the incidents.
Majhi directed the police to issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and strengthen bomb squads with modern training. “We have skilled forces; let’s make them even more skilled,” he said.
The CM had discussed the matter with senior officials, including the Chief Secretary and DGP, and directed immediate action. Deputy CM KV Singh Deo and top officials attended the meeting.
The CM assured there’s no reason to panic but emphasized preparedness for future threats.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswata Mishra, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Director of Intelligence R.P. Koche were prominently present in the meeting.
