Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday underlined his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and women’s empowerment at the Rising Odisha conclave organized by News18.
Highlighting key achievements in the past 14 months, the Chief Minister said that over 17 lakh women have become lakhpatis through empowerment schemes like Subhadra, while farmers benefited from an additional ₹800 per quintal of paddy under the Samruddha Kisan Yojana.
He added that the state has rolled out the Ayushman Bharat scheme, conducted 14 Jan Sunani hearings resolving more than 90% of grievances, and implemented the National Education Policy alongside the PM SHRI, PM Usha, Sishu Vatika for pre-school children and Godavaris Mishra Adarsh Primary School initiatives to strengthen education.
Majhi also pointed to the industrial growth through the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave and Odisha Textile Conclave, and a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. He noted that the government has already made 28,000 appointments, with processes underway for 85,000 more within two years.
“These steps have brought the government closer to the people in just one year,” Majhi said, stressing that Odisha must now “focus on current excellence to achieve the goal of Samruddha Odisha.”
He also lauded News18 for broadcasting in 16 languages across 20 channels, with programs like Asal Katha gaining popularity for their unique presentation of political, cultural, and social issues.
