Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister today called on External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Union Health Minister J.P Nadda and discussed various issues and proposals on the State’s interest.
During the discussion with Jaishankar, the Chief Minister emphasized on the opening of UAE Consulate in Odisha. Since many people from Odisha are working in Dubai, it will be very helpful for increasing business relations with Dubai, Majhi said. Majhi informed the Union Minister that eight persons from Odisha were facing problems in Dubai and could not return to the State.
The CM sought the cooperation of the Union Ministry of External Affairs for their safe return. The Union Minister promised to take urgent steps in this regard.
The development of tourism sector in Odisha was also discussed. In order to attract foreign tourists, the establishment of a golf course in the state’s Buddhist tourism sector, the establishment of a major innovation centre in the state and the opening of an international tourism center were also discussed. Foreign tourists will take interest in visiting to Odisha in large numbers.
During a discussion with Health Minister JP Nadda, the Chief Minister laid emphasis on establishing medical colleges in all the districts of the State.
Similarly, the proposal to open a second AIIMS in Sambalpur was also discussed. Along with this, the Chief Minister also requested for the expansion of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
The meeting also discussed the early implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Odisha. The Chief Minister said that this will be very helpful for the poor and elderly people in the State.
The chief minister was also accompanied by two deputy chief ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida during the meeting with union ministers.
