Chaibasa: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, who is on a two-day pre-election campaign tour of Jharkhand, is scheduled to address the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Mahasaba’ here on Tuesday. Assembly elections are likely to be held in tribal-dominated Jharkhand in November this year.
The rally will be attended by two former Jharkhand Chief Ministers who are now in BJP – Madhu Koda and Champai Soren. While urging the electorate in Jharkhand’s tribal-dominated Kolhan region, Majhi will talk about the benefits of a ‘double engine government’ and share his experience of heading the BJP government in Odisha and its achievements during the first 100 days.
On Monday, Majhi addressed a ‘Parivartan Yatra’ at Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Addressing a large gathering, Odisha Chief Minister alleged that over the years the tribals of Jharkhand have been deprived of their rights on ‘jal, jungle and zameen’ (water, forests and land). “Major mines are closed in the region depriving tribal youths of employment opportunity,” he said, adding, “The Hemant Soren government is cheating the people.”
“The time has come to end the anti-people government in Jharkhand,” Majhi asserted. He called upon the people of Jharkhand to resolve for the development of the mineral-rich state and bring a BJP government this time.
