Bhubaneswar: The state-level Panchayati Raj Diwas celebrations will be held at Talabania in Puri today.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is slated to announce several key initiatives to strengthen grassroots governance and support local communities during the event.
As per reports, CM Majhi will distribute ration cards to 6 lakh beneficiaries in Puri, providing them with essential food security. Additionally, over 2 lakh new beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of over Rs 200 crore under the Subhadra scheme. Eligible beneficiaries who applied by March 31 will receive the amount in two instalments directly into their accounts.
The Chief Minister will also announce a subsidy of up to Rs 1.38 lakh for installing solar panels up to 3 kilowatts under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. This initiative aims to promote renewable energy and reduce the state’s carbon footprint.
Furthermore, CM Majhi will lay the foundation stone for 314 block-level stadiums worth Rs 4,124 crore.
That apart, the Chief Minister will also launch the e-Panchayat Sabha portal and Panchayat Monitoring System. These digital initiatives aim to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in local governance.
