Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will leave for New Delhi on a two-day visit on Monday to sign a MoU with the Central government on the Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana. He will be accompanied by state Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling.
According to reports, the MoU is scheduled to be signed at 2.00 pm today at the Vigyan Bhawan. Union Health Minister JP Nadda will be present on the occasion.
The state government has initiated the process to implement the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme in the state from next February. An MoU will be signed in New Delhi today to remove the obstacles in implementing the health insurance scheme in Odisha for the first time.
The agreement will be signed between National Health Authority and Odisha government on implementation of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY.
Meanwhile, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be implemented along with the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Card (new name-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana) in Odisha. Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Yojana will be available on one card. The government will issue new cards soon.
Three and a half crore people will benefit from the move of the state government.
