CM Majhi Unveils Industrial Vision At ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ Conclave

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday said Odisha has entered a phase of genuine industrial transformation that will redefine the state’s economic trajectory. He was speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036 Conclave’ organised by the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL).

Majhi outlined the government’s roadmap for accelerating Odisha’s economic growth from its current $120 billion economy to $500 billion by 2036. Achieving this nearly five-fold expansion over the next decade, he said, would be driven by rapid progress in infrastructure, industrialisation and skill development.

The Chief Minister informed that investments worth ₹2 lakh crore have already been grounded, and foundation stones have been laid for 84 industrial projects, generating employment for 1.64 lakh people. Major conglomerates such as Vedanta, Adani, JSW, Indian Oil and Zoho have large projects in the pipeline, alongside rising interest in textiles and green energy.

He highlighted massive enhancements in roads, railways, ports and airports under coordinated efforts of the Central and State governments.

Majhi also announced measures to position Bhubaneswar as a major technology hub of eastern India. FinTech and InsurTech companies are expanding in the city, two semiconductor units have come up with leading IT firms, and strategic projects like the Capital Region Ring Road are set to drive large-scale urban growth in the Cuttack–Bhubaneswar corridor.

Industries and Skill Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the government had won public trust within a year and set Odisha on the path of an “industrial revolution”.

A souvenir titled ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ was released on the occasion. The event was attended by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Industries Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, UCCIL President Prabodh Mahanty and several leading industrialists.
