Keonjhar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday took part in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and planted a sapling at Raikala village in Keonjhar district. The initiative aims to promote environmental conservation through tree plantation.

Speaking on the occasion, Majhi highlighted the importance of community involvement in protecting the environment and urged the citizens to participate in the campaign. He asked the people to honour and respect the motherland. “Let us all, from children to adults, plant a tree for our mothers,” he said.

The Chief Minister shared images from the event on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, saying, “At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I participated in a tree-for-mother programme organised by Patishan Seva Trust at Raikala and planted saplings. #EkPedMaaKeNaam.”

The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Aside from participating in the tree-planting campaign, Majhi visited several Durga Puja pandals in Keonjhar on Sunday.
