Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi presented a comprehensive development blueprint for Odisha, aiming to transform the state into a top-5 Indian state by 2036 and a key growth engine of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The vision includes achieving a $500 billion economy by 2036 and $1.5 trillion by 2047, with 9.5% sustained growth, Rs 32 lakh per capita income, and multidimensional poverty reduced to 5%.
For farmer welfare, Majhi announced Rs 3,100 per quintal paddy support and record procurement of 73+ lakh MT benefiting 16.6 lakh farmers. Infrastructure development includes Rs 90,000 crore rail projects, Rs 50,000 crore national highways, and 75,000 km roads, Majhi said while presenting the motion of thanks on Governor’s speech.
The CM emphasized skill-focused training, modern ITIs, and global partnerships for youth empowerment. Investment proposals worth Rs 20 lakh crore aim to generate 2 lakh jobs. Women empowerment initiatives include Subhadra Yojana, Lakhpati Didis, and C-Mart.
Majhi stressed transparent governance, anti-corruption drive, and united efforts to build a prosperous Odisha, regretting opposition walkout during the debate.
