Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi urged newly appointed officers and employees to play a pivotal role in advancing the State’s development and ensuring the successful implementation of government schemes across the State in his address at the ‘Nijukti Samaroh’ held at the Lok Seva Bhavan’s Convention Center on Tuesday,

A total of 282 officers and employees received appointment letters in three major state departments—Energy, Health & Family Welfare, and Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) under Steel & Mines. Among the appointees, 79 were designated as Assistant Executive Engineers in the Energy department, 31 as Junior Clerk-cum-Typists under the Director Drugs Control in Health & Family Welfare, and 19 as Ayurveda Lecturers under the Director of AYUSH. Additionally, 54 Junior Assistants were appointed at the Odisha University of Health Sciences, alongside 19 Junior Mechanical Engineers, 14 Junior Electrical Engineers, 16 Junior Civil Engineers, 9 Junior Pharmacists, and 30 Electricians.

Congratulating the appointees, CM Majhi acknowledged their hard work and talent in reaching this milestone. He highlighted that their appointment was not just a government job but a “golden opportunity” to engage directly with the public. Majhi urged the recruits to remain committed to public service, promoting humanity, and contributing to nation-building.

“Our government is determined to create a developed and transparent Odisha, where public confidence in government institutions is paramount,” Majhi said. He emphasized the importance of including marginalized, tribal, and downtrodden communities in the state’s progress.

Focusing on the healthcare sector, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s increased budget allocation of Rs 21,000 crore for healthcare, reflecting a 32% rise from last year.

Majhi reaffirmed Odisha’s commitment to expanding health services across urban and rural areas, while announcing upcoming plans to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana.

Majhi also revealed the state government’s ambitious target of filling 1.5 lakh government posts over the next five years, alongside creating 3.5 lakh job opportunities in the industrial sector. He encouraged the new officers to work with honesty, integrity, and a sense of duty toward the public, reminding them to reflect on their own struggles in order to better serve the common people.

Several ministers, including Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, as well as Mukesh Mahaling, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, and Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Minister of Steel & Mines, also addressed the gathering. They called on the new appointees to remain resilient and committed in their public service roles.

The Chief Minister personally handed out appointment letters to 10 new recruits.

Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Health Secretary Ashwathy S., and Additional Chief Secretary Steel & Mines Surendra Kumar were also present.
