Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik broke from his tradition of attending the Rath Yatra in Puri and rather attended it virtually from the confines of his office.
Patnaik has been at the helm of the State for the fifth term this year and had always made it a point to be in Puri during the annual chariot event. However, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and the norms issued by the Supreme Court, the CM refrained. He offered his salutation to the all-seeing Lord Jagannath from his office in Bhubaneswar.
Leading by example, norms of social distancing, hand hygiene were strictly followed by Patnaik, Secretary to CM 5T VK Pandian and other officials.
On this occasion, Patnaik released special Rath Yatra issue of Utkal Prasanga and Odisha Review at the Lokaseva Bhavan when the chariot of Lord Balabhadra rolled out on Badadanda.
