CM Naveen Calls PM Modi, Reiterates Request To Postpone NEET & JEE (Main) 2020

Bhubaneswar: Reiterating the request to postpone Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and National Eligibility Entrance Exam (NEET), Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the telephone. The nation-wide examinations are scheduled to be held in September.

Naveen advocated the postponement by discussing the Covid situation in Odisha in addition to the floods which have gripped many parts of the State. He added that over 50,000 students are appearing the tests this year and may face difficulties.

Notably, on August 25 the Chief Minister had written a letter in this regard. Then he had suggested that if the exams are held in a postponed date then for ease of students an examination centre be assigned to each district of Odisha; instead of just seven currently allocated.
