Bhubaneswar: Odisha today set a milestone in the history of administration by resolving 100-year-old issues of displaced people.
Their years-old problems were solved in just 100 days under the 5T initiative.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today resolved the long-standing land issues of the displaced people of different parts of the state and distributed land patta to them.
People of Lakhanpur tehsil in Jharsuguda district have been facing various problems for years due to land issues. The settlement process was expedited on August 20 after 5T Chairman V.K Pandian’s visit.
The survey was started for 18 revenue villages out of which 866 families of seven villages have been surveyed and land patta have been given. The remaining 11 villages are being surveyed. The government will give the patta to 1,339 families of these 11 villages.
Similarly, the land of 22 villages in Surada Tehsil of Ganjam District was recorded in the name of the Water Resources Department in 1983. The land of 17 villages has gone to the revenue department and their settlement is going on. Out of these, 962 people have been allotted homestead patta and 700 people have been allotted land by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
After the visit of 5T Chairman on August 26 and 27, the survey work was expedited.
Addressing the local people and stakeholders in a special program organized through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said “I have always made sincere efforts to solve the problems of the common people. Your happiness is my greatest achievement”.
Patnaik further said that by getting the land record, you can participate in various government welfare schemes. In the first phase, 20,000 beneficiaries were given Gramkantha Patta. The Chief Minister announced that 18,000 more beneficiaries will get such land records soon.
Speaking on the occasion, 5T Chairman VK Pandian said that due to the sincere efforts of the Chief Minister, the problems of many years have been resolved.
Attending the programme, Labour Minister Sarada Nayak, Aska MP Pramila Bisoyi, Brajarajnagar MLA Alka Mohanty, Surada MLA Purna Chandra Swain lauded the historic step of the Chief Minister.
