Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today gave Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to each Odia worker rescued from the collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand.
After reaching Bhubaneswar, the workers met Patnaik at his residence in Bhubaneswar.
The workers are Raju Nayak, Dhiren Nayak, Bisheshwar Nayak from Mayurbhanj and Bhagban Bhatra from Nabarangpur. Their family members were also present with them.
The Chief Minister congratulated them and inquired about their health condition. The workers also thanked Patnaik for his sympathy.
They all narrated the ordeal inside the tunnel. Describing them as real heroes, the CM said that the way they fought for their lives is truly inspiring.
Notably, 5T chairman VK Pandian had a video chat with them yesterday and inquired about their health.
Labour Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak was present during the meeting. He had camped in Uttarakhand to monitor the rescue operation. He returned to the State with the workers.
Among others, the Labour Commissioner was also present.
