Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the ‘Akshar Bhoomi’ in a grand manner on the premises of Kalamandal in Bhubaneswar.
The first World Odia Language Conference is going to be held at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar for three days from February 3.
To make the conference more memorable, Akshara Bhoomi has been constructed on Kalamandal premises in Bhubaneswar.
To commemorate the first World Odia Language Conference, the Akshar Bhoomi has been built in Khondalite stone as a unique display of Odisha art and sculpture.
The Chief Minister said that the Akshar Bhoomi decorated with the Ordia alphabet will keep alive our love for language.
Patnaik expressed hope that Akshar Bhoomi will continue to inspire future generations about our great heritage and the glory of the classical Odia language.
It is worth mentioning that the 5T chairman V. Kartik Pandian regularly visited Kalamandal and supervised the construction of Akahar Bhoomi. The work has been executed by Works Department under the direct supervision of Kartik Pandian.
Culture Minister Ashwini Patra, MLA Anant Narayan Jena, MLA Sushant Rout, Mayor Sulochana Das, Principal Adviser of CMO Balakrishnan, Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Principal Secretary of I and PR Department Sanjay Singh, Culture Secretary Sujata Rout Kartikeya and Works Department secretary Vir Vikram Yadav were present on the occasion.
