Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched the Laxmi Bus Scheme in Nabarangpur district. In all, 44 buses will connect all 44 panchayats with the 10 blocks in the district. Now, the villagers can travel to their block headquarters by paying a fare of just Rs 5.

Addressing the people of Nabarangpur district, the Chief Minister said that traffic in remote areas is a big problem. The state government started the Laxmi Bus Scheme after he came to know about the problem of people travelling to and from the district to the Chief Minister’s Office. “Your village has now been included in the Laxmi Yojana transit and transport system. This will strengthen the social relations in the rural areas as well as the economy,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that respecting people’s opinions is the hallmark of his government. “All our plans are implemented on the basis of public opinion. Starting from Laxmi Bus Scheme, to Mo Bank, Mo Odisha Nabin Odisha and sanction of money for mutts, temples, and other important projects – all have been done as per people’s suggestions.”

He further said, “Thanks to Laxmi Bus, now everyone can go to different places for their work with ease. This will lead to social and economic development. Maa Lakshmi will come to your house through this yojana and there will be happiness and joy in the house.”

According to the Chief Minister, “Communication is the basis of development. The Laxmi Bus Yojana will connect everyone with development. It will transform our transit and transportation system. It will connect one village to another. People’s social relations will be strengthened. The bus will come near your house and your children can now go to school and college with ease. The scheme will connect farmers to their markets. Hospitalisation of patients will be facilitated. Laxmi buses will be your charioteer in various works by providing facilities in the field of transit.”

Expressing that he has paid special attention to Nabarangpur, the Chief Minister said that now a lot of work is going on for infrastructure development in Nabarangpur. Roads, bridges, irrigation, mega pipe drinking water supply projects, Millet Mission, and many other works are going on. He assured that there will be a massive transformation in the district in the next 3 years.

Speaking on this occasion, Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu said, “On the first Thursday of the month of Margashi, when we are all worshiping Maa Lakshmi and wishing everyone happiness and prosperity, the Chief Minister has brought Lakshmi to our home today. Transportation services have arrived at the doorstep today. Odisha has seen massive changes in various fields. There has been a transformation, especially in the condition of mothers. Looking back 30 years, no one thought about the changes that have taken place in the status of mothers today. The credit for this transformation of mothers belongs only to the Chief Minister.”
