CM Naveen Pays Humble Tribute To Pt. Nehru On His Birth Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of nation’s first Prime Minister birth anniversary, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took a trip down memory lane and was reminiscent of his contribution in the nation-building.

Taking to Twitter, CM Naveen said, “Humble tributes to first the prime minister of free India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary, celebrated as Children’s Day for his special love for children. He will always be remembered for his immense contribution to build a secular, progressive and modern India.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too paid tributes to Pandit Nehru via Twitter.

Born on November 14, 1889, in Allabahad of British India, Jawaharlal Nehru grew up to be a central figure in Indian politics before and after independence. He was one of the eminent leaders of the Indian Independence movement and later went to become the first Prime Minister of independent India. Fondly known as Chacha Nehru, Pandit Nehru advocated for children to have fulfilled education. As a tribute, his birth anniversary is celebrated nation-wide as Children’s Day.
