Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 29.36 crore in the second phase for the construction of 55 new cyclone shelters in the State.
Reportedly, 55 more cyclone shelters are being constructed at a cost of Rs 98 crore provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs 29.36 crore in the first phase in April.
These shelters have played an important role in protecting people during natural disasters such as cyclones and floods.
It is being constructed through the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA). Significant progress has been made in the first phase.
In the second phase, another Rs 29.36 crore has been sanctioned by the Chief Minister to expedite the work. In addition, he has directed to complete the work as soon as possible.
