Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday wished the people of the state on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Chief Minister wrote, “My heartiest wishes to all on this blessed birthday. May everyone’s life be happy and prosperous by the immense grace of Lord Shrikrishna.”
Meanwhile, the Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri is all decked up for Janmashtami celebrations. The rituals at the temple will begin in the evening with ‘Sandhya Dhupa’, followed by the grand Janmashtami celebration. Today, the servitors will lead the Janmashtami celebrations, inspired by the divine stories of Devika and Vasudeva. In the evening, a symbolic portrayal of Srikrishna’s birth will be enacted at the eastern gate of the Srimandir.
The festivities will conclude with the placement of Lord Madan Mohan in a chariot near the Jagamohana tonight.
