Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today held a mega roadshow in Nimapara on Wednesday evening to canvass for the BJD candidates as a massive crowd lined up on both sides of the road to greet him.
Patnaik started the grand show at Gulgula chhak and the roadshow was around 2 km long.
The roadshow came ahead of the final phase of the Assembly and Lok Sabha election in Odisha on June 1.
The top star campaigner of the regional party carried out the show amid tight security and concluded it after more than an hour.
During the roadshow, Patnaik also addressed the crowd from the specially-designed bus for the roadshow. He reiterated his promise to provide free electricity from July and extend the BSKY scheme for people in all categories.
“No electricity bill will come from July. All will be covered under BSKY. Mission Shakti members will get pension,” Patnaik said from the bus while urging the voters to vote for BJD’s MP and MLA candidates in large numbers.
Patnaik sought feedback on BSKY, conch symbol and BJD. The crowd stood up and responded in the affirmative.
Nimapara town witnessed a sea of people waving to the CM, holding BJD’s poll symbol and raising Naveen-Zindabad slogan.
Nimapara Assembly constituency, which is considered as a BJD stronghold, will go to poll June 1. BJD has fielded Dilip Nayak from the segment.
