Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department for winning the ‘Global Planet Purpose Award: Drive for Results’ at the Planet #Explore2023 – Transparency to Action Conference in Washington DC, US.
“Odisha is proud to ensure technology-led governance in paddy procurement for greater farmer welfare,” the CM said.
In a congratulatory message, Naveen added, “Using real-time satellite image, the validity of paddy crops at farms is checked, ensuring transparent disbursal of Minimum Support Price. The technology-led transparency as part of #5T governance has also substantially improved farmers’ participation in the MSP scheme.”

Secretary FS&CW Department, recevieved the prestigious award on behalf of the State Government.
The FS & CW dept has implemented the automation system equipped with satellite assisted paddy crop validation with the help of ORSAC.
This innovative intervention of State Govt has tremendous potential to bring relief to genuine farmers and ensure proper targeting of MSP of paddy.
