Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 15.20 crore for 507 religious and communal projects in the Bhubaneswar metropolitan area. The money will be used to construct and transform various religious and community projects in the Bhubaneswar North, Ekama Bhubaneswar, and Bhubaneswar constituencies.
It is worth noting that petitions were received from various temple management committees, local public representatives, and minority communities for the improvement and development of their religious institutions, community property, women’s houses, puja mandap, etc. Officials of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) visited those places and did a survey. Based on the report, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian discussed all these works with the Chief Minister who sanctioned funds for these development works.
Smart City Bhubaneswar is famous as Temple City as there are more than 700 temples some of which are historical. Thousands of tourists and pilgrims visit these places every day. This amount has been sanctioned keeping in view the need for beautification and improvement of all religious places including ancient structures. Along with this, various group properties, clubs, women’s association houses, and puja mandaps will be developed along with new construction.
