Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned half an acre of land in Chandrashekharpur Mauza to construct ‘Swabhav Kavi Gangadhar Meher Bhawan’ in Bhubaneswar in memory of Meher and his constribution to Oriya literature.
Along with this, the Chief Minister has also sanctioned Rs 3 crore for the construction of this building.
On November 28, representatives of Meher (Bhulia) society of Odisha met the Chief Minister and discussed the construction of a building in memory of Swabhav Kabi and the celebration of his Shraddha centenary.
It was informed by the Meher society that various services will be provided in this building for the students coming from far away for higher studies and for people coming for medical treatment.
It is worth noting that the Chief Minister directed to provide land in response to the request of the Meher Society and to form a committee chaired by Chief Secretary to prepare a program for celebration of death centenary of Swabhav Kavi Meher.
