Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took a historic decision today and ordered to solve the Jatni Khasmahal land issue and gave record of rights to the people.
It is worth noting that Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, during his visit to Khurda, received many complaints from people related to land acquisition. Khasmahal problem in Jatni tehsil was a long-standing problem. In connection with this problem, the public apprised the 5T Secretary.
After 5T Secretary informed about the grievances to the CM, a high-level meeting was held today and the announcements were made.
The 5T Secretary, along with Chief Secretary PK Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Department Satyabrata Sahu, Khurda Collector and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
In the meeting, the Khurda Collector has been instructed to solve the land mortgage issue permanently within three months and distribute the leases to the people in the coming December. Total 537 families will be benefited by this.
Similarly, in Bhubaneswar tehsil, there has been a problem for 60 years regarding fallen land. In this regard, 10,543 cases are pending in various revenue courts. It was decided in the meeting that the problem will be resolved on the basis of the SOP set by the Task Force of the Revenue Department regarding this fallen land.
It is worth noting that 5T Secretary has directed various departments and District Magistrates to take timely steps to resolve grievances of people. The Chief Minister will review its progress in mid-September this year.
