Bhubaneswar: Krushi Odisha 2021, the agricultural expo will be organized at the Biju Patnaik playground in Baramunda from March 15 to 19.
The event to be jointly sponsored by the Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at 5.30 PM on March 15.
Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal will be the chief guest of the valedictory function on March 19.
‘Chhatu'(mushroom) has been selected as the mascot of Krushi Odisha-2021. It was unveiled by Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Sahoo today.
‘Integrated Farming – Towards Farmers Prosperity’ is this year’s theme for Krushi Odisha.
There will be a total of 160 stalls in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be focussing on innovations and best practices in Agriculture, Food Processing, and allied sectors and to make it more remunerative for the farmers.
The event will be attended by Academicians, Agri-Thought leaders, Researchers, Agriculture Institutions and Universities, Farmer groups, Dignitaries from Central and State government departments, Progressive Farmers, Agri-business companies – Seeds, Irrigation, Farm Machinery, Food Processing community, Financial Institutions, and Students.
The objective of Krushi Odisha 2021 is: To showcase best products and practices leading to farm profitability; to develop an understanding on various factors and interactions in value chain management of agri-commodities; to initiate a platform for interface and linkage among market players, service providers, agri-preneurs and industry; and to provide scope for institutional interaction and partnership.
Activities to be held at Krushi Odisha 2021 are as under:
1. Exhibition: To showcase agri-technologies, inputs, information, processing industry, market operations and Agri-preneurs, farm-innovators, farmers’ organizations etc. with thematic stalls.
2.Thematic seminars through Kissan Pathsala, Seminars and Workshops hover around various sub-thematic areas viz. Cost reduction technologies in agriculture and allied sector; Value chain management in prominent Agro-enterprises; Market interventions and services in enhancing farm profitability; Processing and post-harvest of agri-commodities; and Entrepreneurial ventures in agriculture.
3. Stakeholders Interface: Providing a scope for face-to-face interaction of all stakeholders in the agri-commodity value chain.
4. Krishi Gyan Yatra: A guided tour to ICAR institutes, commodity research units of OUAT, successful Agri-entrepreneurs.
5. B2B and B2G meetings
6. Felicitation to achiever farmers, Farmer Organisations, Agri-preneurs, etc; Showcasing agri-technologies, inputs, information, processing industry, market operations, and Agri-preneurs, farm-innovators, farmers organizations, etc. with thematic stalls.
7. Cultural Programme: Display of traditional art forms: folk dances, songs, plays, etc.
8. Souvenir: Book containing theme-based articles and the success of agri-commodity sector will be published to mark the occasion.
