Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed not to pay ground rent for public puja celebrations in the Cuttack Metropolitan Corporation area during the rainy season this year.
The Chief Minister has taken this decision keeping in mind the cultural and spiritual sentiments of the public, at the request of various worship committees and local MLAs.
By this, no ground rent will be charged for the various puja festivals being organised temporarily in the government space during the rainy season in the Cuttack Metropolitan Corporation area. This year, many pujas like Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Karthikeshwar Puja, etc. will be performed in the coming days.
