Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are likely to get respite from the numbing cold from day after tomorrow.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the cold condition in the State is likely to subside from Saturday. However, Foggy conditions will prevail in several parts, weather expert Umashankar Dash said.
The chill condition which persisted since last week will continue till tomorrow. Heavy fog will prevail on December 23 and 24 due to the formation of a high-pressure system in the atmosphere.
Some districts of north and interior Odisha along with some coastal regions will experience fog. The yellow warning has been issued for dense fog in 10 districts on Saturday and 18 districts on the next day, Dash added.
Visibility will drop to 200m at one or two places in some districts. The Weather department has issued Yellow alert has been issued due to the possibility of heavy fog.
In the last 24 hours, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degrees C while about 16 places in the State recorded temperatures below 10 degrees. Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack witnessed season’s lowest temperature 12 degrees C.
