Cold Wave Alert: Odisha To Shiver For Another 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that a cold wave will continue to grip Odisha for the next 24 hours, with temperatures expected to drop significantly in several districts.

According to the IMD’s forecast, cold wave conditions are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur, and Angul. The weather office has issued a yellow warning to these districts.

In addition to the cold wave, the IMD has warned of dense fog in several districts. Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput and Kandhamal. This could lead to reduced visibility and disrupt transportation services in these areas.

The IMD’s forecast is a cause for concern, especially for residents in the affected districts. People are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe during this period.

Going by IMD’s prediction, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur over one or two places in the districts of Kalahandi and Sundargarh on Tuesday.

For December 18, IMD’s prediction reads: “Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati & dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of districts of Odisha. 2) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Kalahandi, and Sundargarh.

“Light rain very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri & dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.”, reads the IMD’s forecast for December 19.

As per IMD’s prediction for December 20, light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.”

For December 21 IMD’s prediction says, “Light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal & dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.”

“Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, and Rayagada & dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of districts of Odisha”, reads the IMD’s weather forecast for December 22.
