Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions continued across Odisha on Monday with mercury dipping below ten degrees Centigrade across 11 places in the State.
The minimum temperature is expected to fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the state, while shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur at some places during next two-three days, it said in a bulletin by the Regional Meteorological Department.
The forecast said that similar conditions will prevail across the State for the next two to three days.
Mercury plunged below 10 degree Celsius in 11 stations. Minimum temperature on the day was at 6.0 at Sonepur and Phulbani followed by Angul (6.6), Titlagarh (7.1), Daringbadi (7.5), Bhawanipatna (8.5), Koraput (9), Keonjhar (9.1), Jharsuguda (9.4), Sambalpur (9.6), and Talcher (9.7).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack too witnessed cold nights with minimum temperature dropping to 11.4 and 10.5 degree Centigrade respectively.
The cold wave, as per the bulletin, made a comeback in the State giving its denizens chilly nights with bright sun providing with some relief in the morning. At night time, people can be seen bundled up inside their houses. And for those who spend the night in open can be seen surrounding a bonfire.
