Bhubaneswar: Cold wave prevailed at one or two places over Jharsuguda and North Interior Odisha on Saturday. Shallow to moderate fog was seen at one or two places over Ganjam, Malkangiri, and Kalahandi on Saturday night, the Indian Meteorological Department stated.
According to the IMD, minimum temperatures observed marked fall at one or two places over South Coastal Odisha, appreciable fall at a few places over South Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over North Coastal Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over Odisha.
“They were below normal at one or two places over North Coastal Odisha, normal at one or two places over North Interior Odisha and appreciably below normal at elsewhere over Odisha. The highest maximum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Gopalpur and lowest minimum temperature of 7 degrees was recorded at Phulbani,” the IMD stated.
The Met Department added, “No large change in minimum temperature (Night Temperature) during next 2 days and gradually rise by 3 degrees to 5 degrees thereafter over the districts of Odisha. Light rain likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh on February 16 and 17.”
