Bhubaneswar: The night temperature in Odisha has taken a sharp dip, with Jharsuguda recording the lowest temperature at 5.1°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Rourkela follows closely at 6.6°C, while Keonjhar is at 9°C. Balasore and Sambalpur have temperatures of 10.3°C and 10.6°C, respectively. The state capital, Bhubaneswar, recorded a temperature of 12.9°C.
Other places like Hirakud, Chandbali, Paradip, and Puri have temperatures of 12°C, 13°C, 13.8°C, and 14.6°C, respectively.
Going by the latest weather update, temperatures will keep dropping over the next four days, with some areas in the state possibly hitting a chilly 7°C.
Meteorologists are warning that things might get even colder, with severe to very severe cold wave conditions expected in several regions.
