Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for dense fog and cold wave conditions in several districts of Odisha from January 7 to 9.
According to IMD prediction, on January 7, dense fog is likely to occur in isolated pockets of Boudh, Nayagarh, Koraput, and Kandhamal districts, while cold wave conditions will prevail in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Koraput, Angul, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur districts. These districts have been issued yellow warning.
The cold wave conditions are expected to continue on January 8 and 9 in the same districts, including Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Koraput, Angul, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur.
“Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Koraput, Angul, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur on January 8 and January 9”, read the IMD prediction for January 8 and January 9.
Residents of these districts are advised to be cautious and take necessary precautions.
