Bhubaneswar: Chilly winter conditions are likely to intensify in Odisha over the next two days as the night temperature is expected to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius from November 16.
The regional meteorological department predicted that the temperature would decrease in the state, leading to cold and wet weather. The temperature in the interior regions of the state is likely to decrease by about 2 to 4 degrees.
The minimum temperature in G. Udayagiri in the state was recorded at 14 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night. According to the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department, a cold wave has not yet settled in the state as the north wind is not blowing.

Although winter has already begun, the cold wave has not yet intensified in the state. After the low-pressure-induced rain, winter has returned to Kandhamal. A cold wave has started in the Baliguda, Daringibadi, K. Nuagaon, Belghar, and Kotagada areas.
The minimum temperature in Daringbadi is below 16 degrees Celsius. The temperature is decreasing, and the entire region is shrouded in a thick blanket of fog till around 9 am. This situation is likely to worsen in the coming days.
