Bhubaneswar: Collectors of all districts in Odisha have been asked to take appropriate precautionary measures as the India Meteorological Department has issued cold wave warnings for the next two days.
They have been asked to ensure that schools, Anganwadi centers, gram panchayat offices and public infrastructures may be kept open in night to be used as night shelters in cold wave prone districts.
As per a yellow warning issued by the IMD, cold wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Angul, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Bolangir till tomorrow morning.
A second yellow warning has been issued for tomorrow, as per which, cold wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Angul, Sonepur and Bolangir till the morning of January 27.
The IMD has mentioned that no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) will be noticed during the next two days and it will gradually rise by 4°C to 6°C in the subsequent two days.
Shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Koraput and Malkangiri during next 24 hours and in subsequent 2-3 days at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.
