Keonjhar: A 21-year-old college student of Akrua village under Anandapur police limits allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his house today after his parents rebuked him over excessive mobile phone usage.
According to reports, the deceased identified as Litesh Jena was studying in the Plus III 2nd year class of Physics honours of Anandapur College and was a meritorious student.
Of late Litesh was rebuked by his parents for excessive use of his mobile phone. On being alone in the house today, he hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his room using a rope.
Later he was rushed to a nearby hospital by his parents where doctors declared him dead.
On being informed Anandapur police have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.
