Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi delivered a strong message on women’s safety and combating organized crime during the state-level Independence Day celebration at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister announced that educational institution campuses will be declared safe zones, with a complete ban on drug use and suppression of anti-social activities by non-students. He also revealed that the government has started implementing the ‘Shaktishri’ program to provide a safe environment for female students.
A zero-tolerance policy has been adopted for women’s safety, with strict action to be taken against those who commit violence against women, regardless of their social status or power. The government will not spare anyone who commits such crimes, and action will be taken against all perpetrators.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need to crack down on organised crime, including extortion and forced donations. Gangsters will be suppressed across the state, and those identified will face strict punishment. The government will not delay in bringing laws to control organised crime.
By taking these measures, the government aims to create a safer and more secure environment for women and students in Odisha.
