Cuttack: Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Wednesday took stock of the security arrangements at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack for the upcoming India-West Indies ODI match to be held on December 22.
After a meeting with the authorities of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Sarangi said that it is the responsibility of the police to provide adequate security arrangements including traffic. Discussions were held on the facilities to be provided to the spectators.
Police will be working in close coordination with the OCA to ensure proper security protection, said Sarangi while adding that both the teams will be brought to the stadium amidst tight security.
OCA secretary Sanjay Behera informed that some works are to be done as per recommendations of the Police Commissioner. While the lighting work will complete within two to three days, a professional group DNA Networks, which has earlier run events like IPL and Hockey World Cup, has been engaged to look after hospitality and promotional activities.
While permission has been received to setup a counter at Bhubaneswar Airport, LED panel will be installed at various places inside and outside the stadium. Besides, many activities including signature campaign will be organised on the stadium premises, said Behera.
