Commissionerate Police Cracks Chandaka Loot Case, 4 Nabbed

**Bhubaneswar:** Commisionerate Police on Tuesday busted a gang of robbers and arrested 4 persons in the connection with the Rs 13 lakh loot from some businessmen near Nandankanan area under Chandaka Police limits. Police also seized 3 motor bikes and cash from their possession.

The four arrested accused have been identified as Chandan Dehury of Patalinga under Athagarh police limits in Cuttack district, Susanta Behera of Pendhurakhali under Patakura police limits in Ganjam district, Sikan Moharana under Laxminarayanpur under Khalikote police limits in Ganjam district and Raja Swain of Astaranga in Puri district.

Speaking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi informed, “Loot case has been solved, Mastermind Chandan Dehury with other three accused were arrested and we seized three motor bikes. Two motor bikes which they used in the loot and the third bike which was bought by the looted money. Rs 1.08 lakhs has also been seized. Efforts are on to catch the other accused in the case. They are around eight to nine persons and police arrested four accused out of them.”

The DCP, Bhubaneswar informed,“Chandan Dehury is a professional criminal. He has already several cases pending under 395 and 302 IPC in his name in several districts. In Cuttack Sadar, Khutuni PS, Narsinghpur and Ganjam PS also registered under 302 IPC against him. He was already arrested in a murder case and dacoity case. Recently he was released from Athgarh jail.”

Bhoi also informed, “From different sources the accused knew the transaction of money regularly. They had trapped it and snatched the money by intercepting. The identity of local youths has been established who were used during the loot and we’re trying to trace them.”
