Bhubaneswar: As the All India traders’ body has given a nationwide shutdown stir tomorrow protesting GST and other rules and regulations enacted by the Centre, the Twin City Commissionerate Police has made elaborate police bandobast in a bid to make the day incident-free and pass off peacefully.
Talking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash said, “Our focus will be to ensure that the general public is not affected and essential services are not disrupted. Special attention will be paid to ensure that the people on their way to attend important matters aren’t harassed.”
He also informed, “Forces will be deployed at the market places to avert untoward incident and regular patrolling will be made, especially in the areas having commercial institutions and establishments. We’ll also hold discussions with the traders’ association here. Hope, this programme of theirs passes off peacefully.”
