Bhubaneswar: The Commisssionerate Police has come up with traffic regulations for President Droupadi Murmu’s five-day visit to Odisha starting December 3.
As per reports, the Commissionerate Police has announced traffic restrictions effective from December 3 to 6. To ensure smooth traffic regulation and address security concerns, specific roads and connecting lanes will be closed to vehicles during specified times.
Roads to remain closed between 4.50 pm to 5.35 pm on Tuesday are Airport Sqr.- Hospital Square- AG Square.- left turn- Raj Bhavan Square.- Power House Square-120 Bn. Square.- Shastri Nagar- Behera Sahi Square.- Jaydev Vihar Square- Xavier Square.- left turn- Hatiasuni Chhak – right turn- Neeladri Vihar.
Between 6 pm to 6.30 pm on Tuesday, roads to remain closed are Neeladri Vihar- left turn- Xavier Sqr.-right turn- Jaydev Vihar- Behera Sahi Sqr.- Shastri Nagar Sqr.- 120 Bn. Sqr.- Power House Sqr.- Raj Bhavan Sqr.
On Wednesday, roads to remain closed from 8.50 am to 9.15 are Raj Bhavan Sqr.-A.G. Sqr.- Right turn-Hospital Sqr.- Airport Square.
Going by traffic curbs, Airport Sqr.- Hospital Sqr.- AG Sqr.- left turn- Raj Bhavan Sqr.- left turn- Gopabandhu Sqr.- left turn- OUAT will remain closed between 11.50 am to 12.15 pm.
Similarly leading roads such as Raj Bhavan Sqr. – AG Sqr.- Raj Mahal Over bridge- Kalpana Sqr.- Right turn- Museum Sqr.- left turn – Ravi Talkies Sqr. and Mausi Maa Sqr will remain closed between 5 pm to 5.25 pm.
Besides, Ravi Talkies Sqr. and Mausi Maa Sqr. -Museum Sqr.- Kalpana Sqr.- left turn- Raj Mahal Over bridge- AG Sqr.- Raj Bhavan Sqr will remain shut between 6.15 pm to 6.5p pm
On Friday, vehicular movement will be restricted from Raj Bhavan Sqr to AG Sqr.- Right turn-Hospital Sqr.- Airport Sqr from 8.50 am to 9.30 am.
Moreover, plying of heavy vehicles/buses will not be allowed to ply on the road from Kalpana Square to Lingipur Square and vice versa. Heavy vehicles like buses coming from the Puri side intending to go towards the Bhubaneswar / Cuttack side will go through the Bypass Road at Lingipur Chhak and proceed through Keshura chhak and Pandra Chhak.
Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said, “For the President’s visit, we have tightened security arrangements as per Blue Book Rules. To monitor and oversee the arrangements, three DCP-rank officers, 15 Additional DCP-rank officers, 45 ACP rank officers and 200 inspector rank officers and other police officials have been engaged.”
