Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police on Monday arrested three persons for peddling brown sugar here on Monday. They were identified as SK Rahil alias Rahil (25), Tulu Jena (25), and Mohana Kishore Behera (25).
According to reports, a team of Saheed Nagar police raided a location behind the FCI building near Patharabandha slum during which the trio was held while dealing with brown sugar.
The police seized 10 grams of brown sugar, 3 mobile phones, 2 two-wheelers and Rs 36,000 in cash from their possession. The accused admitted that they had smuggled the brown sugar from the Balasore district and were selling it in Bhubaneswar, the police said.
Saheed Nagar police have registered a case and forwarded the accused to the court. Sk Rahil is a habitual offender with four criminal cases in his name at Kendrapara Town. Further investigation of this case is underway, the police said.
