Cuttack: A day ahead of the arrival of team India and West Indies, who will be competing with each other in their 3rd One Day International (ODI) at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on December 22, Commissionerate Police conducted a security drill in the city.
A long motorcade comprising some 14 police vehicles was seen escorting two buses to the stadium, simulating the arrival of both India and West Indies teams.
Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh had earlier informed that the teams will be escorted by the Bhubaneswar police to the stadium. They will enter through gate number 14 and will head towards their respective dressing rooms.
Similarly, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Sanjay Behera had informed that teams will be arriving in Bhubaneswar on December 19. The BCCI has reserved rooms at Hotel Mayfair Lagoon in Bhubaneswar for both the teams.
Two Volvo A/C coaches will be arranged for transportation of the teams from the hotel to the stadium. The buses will be stationed at Bhubaneswar and handed over to police one day before the arrival of the team for necessary security check-up.
