Bhubaneswar: In order to combat crimes and criminal activities more effectively, the Commissionerate Police is going to adopt a new technique i.e crime mapping on Google application.

In the first phase, police will focus on snatching and loot incidents. The police will take the help of various telecom service providers, who can provide the police with locations of the criminals, their movement and call records, Twin City police commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi said.

“CCTV cameras are installed at various locations in Cuttack and Smart city Bhubaneswar. The unified command control room will receive the feed of these cameras. We will analyse the feeds through Artificial Intelligence (AI) operation and use them in combating criminal activities in next phase. It will help make the Commissionerate Police more effective and efficient in crime control programme in the future,” the Commissioner added.

Cyber Experts also hope that the use of the most advanced technology like AI will be very helpful in crime Control.

Notably, CM Naveen Patnaik stressed on the use of advanced technology in crime control during the Raising Ceremony of the Commissionerate police.
