Berhampur: Retracting all relaxations, the Ganjam district administration has imposed a complete lockdown in the till June 30.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange requested everyone to cooperate so that the chain of transmission could be broken and community transmission could be avoided. He said that the essential services will be allowed 7 am to 12 noon. A curfew will be imposed from the same day’s 12 noon till 7 am the next day.
Additionally, the movement of buses, cars and auto-rickshaws will be to be restricted. Common public without proper reason will not be allowed to come out of their homes after 12 PM. The weekend shutdown will continue as before.
Ganjam SP Brijesh Rai said, “We will adopt the decentralise approach of delivery of essential commodities. I request everyone to abide by social distancing norms and wear masks at all times. If each one of us will follow the guidelines, then we can easily beat the COVID-19 pandemic.”
As of Sunday morning, Ganjam has witnessed 682 cases of which only 98 are active. There have been 578 recoveries and six deaths, so far.
