Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and several leaders cutting across party lines condoled the demise of seasoned politician and 10 times MLA Sugnana Kumari Deo.
Governor Das expressed deep grief over the death of the Khallikote queen. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and followers.

In a post on ‘X’ handle, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also expressed condolences.
“I am saddened to learn about the demise of prominent politician V Sugnana Kumari Deo. As a senior leader of the Biju Janata Dal, she has been instrumental in organising the party. she has left a mark in public service by representing Khalikote and Kabisuryanagar assembly constituencies 10 times. It is an irreparable loss. May her soul rest in peace and my condolences to the bereaved family members,” CM posted on X.
Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan also expressed grif over the passing of the former MLA. He termed her as popular leader and politician.

Similarly, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also took to X to express grief over the death of the veteran leader.
” I am saddened to learn the demise of V Sugnana Kumari Deo, veteran politician, former leader and queen of Khallikot. For a long time, she was well known in the public mind of Odisha as a leader. Odisha lost an outspoken politician in his passing away. her social service as a public representative will always be remembered. May the immortal soul rest in peace. I expressed condolences to the bereaved family,” Pradhan stated.

Deo passed away at a private hospital in Chennai at the age of 87.
She was undergoing treatment for last few days due to a serious illness. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also met her at the hospital on Friday evening in Chennai and enquired about her health. He also discussed with the doctors and had prayed for her recovery.
Her mortal remains will reach Bhubaneswar in the evening.
