Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has announced the formation of a 10-member Election Steering Committee and a 21-member Election Monitoring Committee to strategize and oversee the upcoming Nuapada by-election, scheduled for November 11.
The committees, approved by OPCC President, are set to bolster the party’s campaign efforts in the Western Odisha constituency. The Election Steering Committee includes all sitting Congress MLAs and MPs, along with the OPCC vice president and treasurers, ensuring a strong leadership presence.
The 21-member Election Monitoring Committee comprises former MLAs, district presidents, and other senior leaders, tasked with grassroots coordination and voter outreach.
The Congress has intensified its campaign in Nuapada, with party nominee Ghasiram Majhi leading the charge. Dozens of senior leaders have camped in the constituency, engaging voters and strengthening the party’s presence ahead of the by-poll. The by-election is seen as a critical test for the Congress in Odisha, with the party aiming to make significant inroads in the region.
